We were made to live… we were made to thrive!

We know we were made for so much more, Than ordinary lives.  It’s time for us to more than just survive, we were made to thrive.

HEY!

Casting Crowns coined my weekend…. It was a great weekend, even though I was in a flare.  Why?!  Because we were celebrating someone very close to me kicking cancers booty.  This person is very important to me, and motivates/inspires me on a regular basis.

Though they were going through treatments, they always chose to see the bright side; chemo was just a 6 month flu.  They always took time to make sure that I was also ok, while I was checking on them every day – they were asking me if I was ok.  We are survivors.

Watching the strength and amazing spirit has had the biggest impact on me since I was diagnosed.  They came through this with an amazing demeanor, amazing faith and amazing spirit.  There is a positive side to everything the life throws at us, we have to embrace the positive – without that we are lost and crippled.

We can always makeup the reasons something has happened to us; from having a chronic illness to cancer to car accidents to missing a phone call to dropping a phone and smashing the screen – sometimes there is no reason for the season.  I am sick.

I am sick, because of alcohol fetal syndrome…

I am sick, because my body hates me…

I am sick, because……..

I am sick and that’s it.

I could blame being sick on so many things.  But truly, what does this help?!  I am sick.  I cannot change the diagnoses, I can only change how I deal with it.

SO….. I have taken notes from my motivator and focus on what I can do today.  What I can do tomorrow.  Looking on the bright side of an inflamed skin sack with an unlimited amount of spoons.  My illness is no crutch.  I’m a Lily, right now I am going through a small brush fire (Controlled Fire = Renewed Growth) to grow strong and beautiful.

Negative Vibes = Stress and STRESS = FLARES

Positive vibes = Positive Self talk = Reduced Stress = Reduced Inflammation = Better feeling bodies/minds.

Start where you are.  Use what you have.  Do what you can.  – Arthur Ashe

I am here, today – I am, like I’ve already mentioned; sick.  This is where I am.

I have a great team of doctors, a strong support system and my positive outlook to use.

I do what I can = I try my best to stay positive and look at the bright side.  Shoot, watching someone be positive and laugh in the face of cancer; put my illness in perspective.  We were made to live, we were made to thrive.
