Positivity 21 day challenge…. Day 2.
In every day, there are 1,440 minutes. That means we have 1,440 daily opportunities to make a positive impact. – Les Brown
Starting this self-imposed challenge I didn’t stop to think of what these 21 days would be like, or if they had any significance. I just saw 21 days left this month – 21 days to make to habit – PERFECTO! But in true everything happens for a reason fashion, today is my 3 year anniversary of my official diagnosis.
What a great time to focus on the positive aspects.
Today I woke up early to start a new routine of morning yoga, went to work and then hit the gym… in the same shoes that I bought 3 years ago to cheer myself up. They are the coolest Star Wars Vans ever, seriously ever.
My first thoughts today were fear, because I remember the sadness that come from the diagnosis – how could I talk about being positive when I too struggle with depression over my chronic illness. As I sang yesterday, with R.E.M; Everybody hurts sometimes… However, the positivity comes with how we come out of the shadows and embrace the bad.
Much like the day 3 years ago, I was sad and scared – but I bought some kick ass shoes to do kick ass things in. Though the day sucked a bit, I found a silver lining and did not let Lupus own me. I have never let my illness own me, define me or depress me (for too long).
This is going to be a hard challenge for me to meet, but I am so excited to share my 21 days of positivity with you! Join me and spread the positivity.
Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see a shadow. –Helen Keller
Lily up and spread your petals to the sun, soak in the love and bask in the glory; be alive my friends.
